Yesterday Anita and I went "up valley." Near Paraiso there is a narrow valley with a fault secondary to the San Andreas. The valley is quite narrow. When we were a couple miles in we came to this exposed uplift. It was huge, perhaps 500' or so high. Even at 14mm I could not take it all in, so I stitched three images together using layers. It's not great, but not bad either for a first try. Sky presents real issues when stitching.
My first thought about the uplift was, "Man, I would not want to have been here when this happened!"

Great stuff, I have yet to try to make one of these but I hear a tripod is of the essence along with using the manual setting to assure you get the same or as close to the same results as possible. Very cool shot. Gets me motivated to try.
