A Zen Moment - An Ultimate Truth of Life Nailed to a Tree

On a trip up the Arroyo Seco the other day I came across this sign nailed to a tree at the shuttered and wrecked Miller's Lodge resort. All I could say to myself was, "Ain't that the truth."

MontereyJohn Video Cam Surfaces! (Sort Of)

Last November as Anita and I were preparing to board the tall ship Hawaiian Chieftain, my video camera fell in the drink. I was in public, so I had a calm response (really just ask Anita!) It was a goner, so we just went on and enjoyed the cruise less my video cam (which was later replaced by an HD camera).

That was the last I ever saw of that camera, right?

Wrong!
