Went up the Salinas Valley a few miles yesterday. It's ranged from foggy to very hazy along the coast for the last week as we are preparing to head into rainy season. It was still hazy up the valley, but at least there was a bit more sun even if you could not see the mountains very well. The wineries, some of which are well known like Hahn and Paraiso are in this area. They cling to the hill sides above the valley floor which is dedicated to vegetables. The grapes are ripe. I'm learning something about shooting up close and wide open with the new Rebel XT, i.e. handheld is an issue. I had a bunch of images that are slightly blurred. My fault, not the camera's. This one came out "OK."
Those grapes look yummy! I passed a couple of vineyards here (North Carolina) today. I didn't stop, though. I heard, from a very knowledgeable person, that the NC wine is getting better, but they are no where close to California wines. :-)
