I was down in Big Sur this afternoon hoping to shoot some seascapes. It was incredibly clear here in the Sun Belt as the valley between Salinas and Monterey is called by the locals. By the time I got to Carmel it was pea soup fog. Sheesh.
I chased the sun south to Molero State Park just above the opening to the Big Sur Valley where I finally got some breaks in the mist. I went up on the hills overlooking Molero and Pt. Sur. This is the "old coast road" which was the wagon trail used before Route 1 was built during the 1930s. It is a rutted disaster but a lot of fun. Ranches line either side of the road and beef cattle were all over the road as I drove up the mountain.
Apparently this fence was not all that effective at keeping the cows in.

Love the focal point and the depth of foucs in the barbed wire image MJ. Great aperture control also in that and all images also.
Looks fabulous! Great macro!
Awesome detail in that wood
Hope your cat won't be upset, but these three kick the cat's ass!
Love the texture of wood
Absolutely fabulous macros, John!
No one mentioned, but the knots on that one fence post looks just like the face of a bear! Nice job!
