Weenie Roast Goes Bad in Salinas

For larger image click on picture.

This actually is a "controlled burn" at the now closed Fort Ord. At least we hope it is controlled. The last time they did this thousands of folks had to flee their homes due to smoke and ash. "We're from the government and we are here to help you."

Controlled or not, thats an awesome image title MJ! The image prologue is hillarious as well. I can imagine women with rollers in their hair screaming at the sight of shiny mettalic suits with breathing appartus busting into the living room, "We're from the government and we are here to help you." 8)

In some ways I think of "controlled burn" as an oxymoron. This is a beautiful shot. The smoke looks wild and dangerous!

So you don't like winter?? I'll try to make sure you can experience it without having to get cold!!

Here in Arizona the Forest Service has changed the description of controlled burn to "Perscribed Burn", noting that it's the foundation of forest fire ecology.

Go firure!
