Okay, so I shot this in RAW and then played with the white balance a bit. It's realy not a felony. Trust me, I'm a lawyer :) My major complaint id the flaring around the sun. I'm not sure what to do about that. I'll try a polarizer next time.

This is a perfect picture!

John, the flaring around the sun actually adds to the photo! It takes it up a notch and adds interest to the shot.

More than likely, a polarizer won't get rid of it. That's just the reflection shining off of the aperture blades, I believe.

Very nice, and the sun doesn't bother me either. You could try a star filter if you were looking for a harder edge around the light. But I think this is very typical of sun in a photo, let alone digital.
