You're Going Where?

I am going to be out of town for a few days and probably won't be posting for a bit.

Will and I are going to be doing some work on California Photography Services, our start up commercial shop.

Please do drop in and take a look at our website, it's very cool and Will has put a LOT of work into it.

Meanwhile Bella will just have to get by.

Photographer's Assistant (Specializes in Birds)

Meet BG, short for Big Gray. This is your basic 20lb cat. He is a fine boy. Today he was helping me while I photographed the hummingbirds.

BG's favorite thing is "TV Time." This is the hour or so after dinner when we sit down to watch TV, like the British mysteries on PBS (perhaps the only thing I like about PBS). BG crawls up in my lap and sucks up some affectionate petting and ear scratching. He purrs like a cement mixer.

When the show is over he reluctantly heads for bed.

OK, that's enough blogging for one day.

Nosing Around on a Sunday Afternoon

Today I went over to Monterey to check out an arts festival. It was pretty sparsely attended while I was there. There was one photographer among the vendors. He had some nice stuff that was a bit pricey in the $300-400 range for matted lanscapes and city scapes. Good work, but I had a hard time seeing that type of work selling in a street environment.

Ah, the joys of researching the market

I did see one thing I liked, this guy walking around with a rat terrier on his shoulder.

I can see I have a thing or two to learn about this 70-300mm lens. The focus is soft in almost all my images. Guess I will go to aperutre priority at 100+ mm, perhaps f11 will sharpen things up.

The new Canon EF 100mm f2.8 macro arrived today. I don't think Bella my cat was all that impressed. But I found it to be rather cool.
